Success in PLAB OSCE: The Three-Class Series
Three free 90-minute live classes for doctors preparing for the PLAB 2 OSCE, taught in ascending levels: Class I · Introduction (Saturday 26 September), Class II · Advanced (Saturday 10 October) and Class III · Mastery (Saturday 24 October 2026). Book any class, or all three. Each class is limited to 50 delegates, and we strongly recommend that you practise the published Course Hub cases between the class dates to gain the most from the series. Written for international medical graduates who have passed PLAB 1 and are preparing for PLAB 2, and for senior medical students who want to understand how the UK clinical examination is judged before they sit it. The series is designed as a progression: learn the examination and the marking at Class I, practise the published cases with live feedback at Class II, and test yourself against examiner-level marking on unseen cases at Class III.
Three classes, three levels
Each class stands alone and can be booked on its own. Taken together, they take you from understanding the examination to performing at the standard of a Clear Pass.
Introduction to PLAB OSCE
How PLAB 2 is built and marked, and how to use the free Course Hub resources. A fireside chat with successful PLAB 2 candidates, a station worked live with the marking scheme applied and explained, and a volunteer station for live practice.
Book Class IAdvanced Level PLAB OSCE
Practice of the published Course Hub cases with live feedback, targeting the Pass grade. A recap of the marking, a gold-standard live demonstration, and three live practice stations with volunteers, each marked and explained as it happens.
Book Class IIMastery Level PLAB OSCE
Examiner-level mock practice on unseen cases, targeting a Clear Pass and Foundation Year 2 competency. Three live practice stations on cases you have not seen before, marked to examiner standard and explained. Unseen cases and bonus material are shared with attendees.

Timings are UK time (BST). The class starts promptly at 18:00 and the Zoom waiting room opens at 17:55.
Sixteen scenarios, eight minutes each, three marking domains scored 1 to 4, and the two conditions you must meet to pass. What the GMC publishes, what it does not, and how to use the free Course Hub resources.
Candidates who have recently passed PLAB 2 on what worked for them, what they would do differently, and how they prepared in the final weeks.
A demonstration case run in real time, then the marking scheme applied and explained domain by domain, so you can see exactly how a score is reached.
Live practice by volunteers from the audience, marked and explained as it happens. Volunteer on the day if you would like feedback on your own consulting.
Open questions to the faculty and the panel of successful candidates.

Classes II and III timetable · 10 and 24 October 2026
Both classes follow the same practice-led structure. At Class II the stations are drawn from the published Course Hub cases and target the Pass grade; at Class III they are unseen cases, marked to examiner standard, targeting a Clear Pass and Foundation Year 2 competency.
A brisk refresher on the three domains, the 1-to-4 scale and the two conditions for a pass, so that everyone marks from the same page.
A station run to the standard of a Clear Pass by the faculty, then marked domain by domain: what "gold standard" looks like in eight minutes.
A volunteer runs the station under examination timing (8 minutes), followed by marking and feedback (7 minutes).
Second station, same format. At Class III the case is unseen and marked to examiner standard.
Third station, same format. Volunteers are chosen on the day; everyone marks along with the examiner.
Patterns across the three stations, the commonest reasons for a mark of 2 rather than 3, and open questions to the faculty. At Class III the unseen cases and bonus material are shared with attendees.

Places are free but limited to 50 per class and must be booked in advance through our secure scheduling page. Each class has its own booking link, so book the classes you want one at a time. Your Zoom joining link arrives with each booking confirmation and is sent again 48 hours and 1 hour before the class. The link is personal to you and must not be shared: only booked delegates are admitted from the waiting room (see Security and attendance).

Four steps from booking to joining
Book your class
Enter your name, email address and phone number on the scheduling page and tell us whether you are an MD student or graduate, and your university. You will receive an immediate confirmation containing your personal Zoom joining link and calendar links. Repeat for each class you would like to attend.
Add the class to your calendar
Use the iCal, Outlook or Google Calendar link in the confirmation so the joining details are with you on the day. If the confirmation does not arrive within a few minutes, check your junk folder.
Practise, and watch for the reminders
Work through the published Course Hub cases between the class dates. The joining link is sent again 48 hours before each class and once more one hour before it begins.
Join from 17:55 UK time
Join from a laptop or desktop in a quiet room, with a working camera and microphone, so you can volunteer for a practice station and take part in the plenary. The waiting room opens at 17:55 and we begin at 18:00.
